Buick Apollo

The Buick Apollo was a compact car produced by Buick from 1973 to 1975. It was part of the GM “X-body” platform, which was shared with other GM divisions.

Buick Apollo:

• Platform: Based on the GM “X-body” platform, which was also used for the Chevrolet Nova, Oldsmobile Omega, and Pontiac Ventura.
• Production Years: Manufactured by Buick from 1973 to 1975.
• Design: Essentially a re-badged Chevrolet Nova, sharing many mechanical components and design features.
• Market Position: Positioned as a compact car within Buick’s lineup during the 1970s oil crisis era, offering a smaller, more fuel-efficient option compared to larger Buick models.

The Buick Apollo, along with its GM counterparts on the X-body platform, contributed to GM’s strategy of offering compact cars across its brands to compete in the market segment demanding smaller, more economical vehicles.
