SAIR
Abbreviation for Secondary Air Injection System. This is an emissions control system used in internal combustion engines to reduce exhaust emissions. It works by injecting fresh air into the exhaust stream, usually near the exhaust manifold or catalytic converter, to promote the oxidation of unburned hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. This helps the catalytic converter reach operating temperature more quickly and improves overall emissions performance.
