Train station

« Back to Glossary Index

“Train station” as trucker slang for traffic court is an interesting metaphor. It reflects the idea of a place where everyone passes through and is “processed,” similar to how trains pass through a station. In this context, it suggests that traffic court is a busy place where many drivers are fined or penalized, likening the flow of offenders to the traffic of trains passing through a station. So, when a trucker says “Get out your money traffic court is a real train station today,” they’re likely warning others that the court is busy and likely to impose fines or penalties on those appearing before it.
