An alternator is an essential component in modern vehicles and machinery that converts mechanical energy from the engine into electrical energy in the form of alternating current (AC):

  1. Function: The alternator operates by harnessing mechanical energy from the engine, typically via a belt-driven pulley system. As the engine rotates, the alternator spins and generates alternating current (AC).
  2. AC Output: Alternators produce AC because the rotating magnetic field within the alternator induces an alternating voltage in the stator windings.
