Hot-air engine: This type of engine uses air as the working substance. The air is rapidly heated from an external source, causing it to expand and move a piston. Afterward, the air is transferred to a compression cylinder for rapid cooling before returning to the working cylinder for the next cycle.
Compressed air engine: A small reciprocating engine driven by compressed air.
