Sand Scratching
A paint defect where the finished surface appears dull with low gloss, revealing imperfections from the primer or metal beneath the top coat. This issue often arises when the surface is sanded too aggressively with a coarse abrasive, coupled with an insufficiently thick paint layer that fails to cover the underlying imperfections. Sand scratching can lead to uneven or poor-quality paint finishes and is typically corrected by ensuring a smoother sanding process and adequate paint coverage.
