This track was built as a 1/2 mile in 1948, and was originally known as the Yellow Medicine County Fairgrounds Racetrack. It was later renamed Renegade Speedway before becoming Canby Speedway. Weekly racing took place until 1966, at which time it closed. Racing resumed in 1974, only to close again in 1979. The track reopened a third time in 1982, and closed again in 1986. It was reopened again in 1988, and shut down in the mid 1990's. The track was reopened in 1998 and stretched out from it's small 1/4 mile oval to a true 1/4 mile oval. Racing took place with sanctioning provided by WISSOTA from 1998 until the summer of 2007, at which time it closed. On Saturday nights, they raced WISSOTA Street Stocks, WISSOTA Modifieds, WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, and Bombers/Stock Cars.
